  Homegrown Fire Pit In this age of the Covid-19, with the recommendation of staying home and limiting entertainment options, you need to have a place in the backyard where you can relax and contemplate. How about your own little campfire at home?   Before we go any further, check with your city/county/regional district and confirm that you are able to have a controlled fire pit in your backyard. Wouldn't want you to go through all that trouble, only to find out you gotta mothball your prized fire pit.     Tools: MIG welder Plasma Cutter (not a 100% necessary, but nice to have) Handheld grinder Propane Torch Clamps - C-Clamps, welding clamps, magnets, etc. Safety Equipment - welding helmet, beanie, cotton jacket (welding top), gloves, jeans or equivalent), leather boots, safety glasses, earplugs, you get the point.  BTW, YOU BUILD YOUR OWN FIRE PIT AT YOUR OWN RISK, PERIOD. Materials: 24" tractor/trailer rim 2 - 18" light truck rims 1 - sheet, small diameter mesh A bunch

Trophy Bike Shelf

The Trophy Bike Shelf Being under 'house arrest', the damned virus scourge, and way too much time on my hands... here's something a little different. My days of competitive riding are over, my trusty steed kept on getting kicked around the basement. That's no way to treat your 'best ride'. Before the Merlin got damaged, better to hang it up and admire the ride. Doing some research, I found an enterprising entrepreneur who designs, builds, and markets a great looking bike shelf. It's nice enough looking to mount on the wall (in my case, the rec room). Now I can sit back, enjoy the sweet lines of the 'TI' machine and remember all the excellent long rides over the years. I don't plan to hijack their idea and market their design. The "Tower of Power" Welding Cart Project

My first MIG weld project: The Tower of Power Welding Cart Hi folks, this is my little corner where I drop pics and dialog of stuff I've built in the garage. I use my humble garage, I which transformed into a multi-purpose shop to allow me to wield power tools in the pursuit of building stuff... and to figure out things, figuratively and mentally. Took me a long time but it works for me.  Yeah, I make stuff, most times with no previous experience. Nothing professional-grade, but mostly over-built chunks of wood and steel. I leave the sleek, powerful design to the engineers at Ferrari and Koenigsegg.
